Well, it's my pleasure to announce that after many long days and nights, we now have a beautiful toffee-colored moth! Cepheus has emerged from his chrysalis to show his true colors. . . . well, only one color, really, but it's beautiful!! He came out last night as I slept - It would have been great if I had a video camera to document all that occurred while I slept, but I'm still so happy. This is really cool! I took a couple pictures of the chrysalis he left behind. It looks like he emerged from one end, dragged it around a little until he broke out completely. How fantastic is this??!!!
I am really fascinated by all of this. I have to admit that I was beginning to wonder if Cepheus was going to be one of the little guys who take up to a year or more to fully metamorphose. I'm glad to say he was one of the less-than-two-weeks guys. PHEW!! Happy Emergence Day, Cepheus! I'd propose a coming out party, but people would think it was something it's not. Maybe I'll celebrate at rehearsal tonight. He, he, he. I'm such a proud. . . . parent? guardian? host? - no, that sounds too "an alien possessed my body" kind of thing. I'll be his temporary guardian. Hooray!!
