Old Fashioned Jukebox in a Modern World
In my experience, wherever you go, there you are, so it's worth your time to make yourself the kind of person you want to be around.

The Final (and Eternal) Frontier
I'm sure all who read this blog are aware that I'm engaged to be married later this month. It's so surreal. . . still. So, here's how we met and progressed to this point; in a nutshell.
Girl has friend from junior high. Boy has former room mate. Girl's friend and Boy's former room mate meet and get married. They want to spread the happiness. They arrange for Boy to make dinner for them and Girl. Boy meets Girl. Boy cooks for Girl. First date is awkward and interrupted multiple times. Girl leaves somewhat disappointed and decides not to actively pursue Boy.
Boy persists and calls Girl for another date. Girl accepts on the condition that there be more conversation and fewer interruptions. Boy agrees. Second date arrives and Boy totally redeems himself. Boy and Girl talk into the wee hours of the night about all kinds of things. Girl really likes Boy and wants to get to know him even better. Boy asks when he can see Girl again. Girl has him tell her when he wants to. They go out two days later. They hold hands, talk, joke, ils parlent français, and Boy kisses Girl for the first time. Girl thinks it was sweet. Boy thinks he screwed things up. They proceed to see one another nearly everyday until this very day I'm writing the tale.
The timeline is brief, but not very different from the precedent set by many in Girl's family.
First meeting = Sept. 24, 2010.
Official Proposal = Nov. 4, 2010
Wedding Date = Dec. 21, 2010
As I'm sure you know, there's much more detail involved, but long story short: they have a lot in common despite their very different backgrounds. The bottom line is Boy and are Girl very happy and very excited to take this sojourn together.
