Things are Changing

So, I've got an update on Cepheus. I think he's chrysalized for real! I thought maybe he was dead and gone, but he has partially turned into this little brown pod. You can't see it very well in these pictures, but the unbumpy end of him has vein-like texture to it.... Like he's developing wings!! It's really interesting. There's this little, shriveled black thing on the sand near him that I thought was a dead fly, or some other parasitic creature that sometimes gets into caterpillars, but as I look closer, I realize that it's Cepheus' old skin!!!

This may be gross to you, but I'm finding it incredibly fascinating - however yucky our initial meeting was in my carpet. That's been cleaned and I'm experiencing an awesome event that few people get to witness! I'm really happy for Cepheus.
